Our Story

Long Winter Farm is a 49 acre on conserved farmland in Stowe’s Nebraska Valley.

Long Winter Farm began in 2016 when a partnership between retiring farmer Christine Kaiser, aspiring farmers Andrew and Annie Paradee, the Stowe Land Trust and the Vermont Land Trust resulted in the permanent conservation of the Kaiser farmland. Andrew and Annie then purchased the conserved farm to begin a diversified vegetable and livestock operation.

We are driven by the principles of sound land stewardship, environmentally sustainable farming practices, and supporting our community by growing nourishing food.

We are a family farm dedicated to keeping our neighbors well!

Our son Oliver was born late in 2019, a few months before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. We adjusted our CSA distribution in 2020 to address public health protocols. Similar measures will take us into 2021. Farming with a child and farming during a pandemic have both inspired us to be adaptable with our business while maintaining our focus of community food access and environmental stewardship. May we all continue to learn and adjust!
